Can you choose one word for 2017 to represent your goals? Just one? It is hard, isn’t it? I was challenged at the beginning of 2016 to choose a word to focus on for the year and I’m embarrassed to say I forgot what it was. Obviously, it didn’t make a big impression on me at the time, but I’ve been thinking about my word for 2017 now.
After much deliberation, here is my initial list:
Something needed to be my motivation for the year, I needed a guidepost to get me on the right path. While writing out goals is something I always try to do, this exercise seems like it can give me a base, a starting point to focus myself on what needs to get done. Additionally, this list of words helped me realize how much I needed an craved a change from the total focus on work this past year.
After mulling it over, I kept coming back to BALANCE. This will be a springboard for my goals, especially since I’m not an organised person and need simplicity in my planning. And it can only help my sanity as both a wife and a mother. Therefore, as I strive for balance, I will look for every opportunity to create time for family, friends, work, spiritual pursuits, travel, meditation, exercise and sleep.
What is your word for 2017?
